Consignment

HOW TO CONSIGN:

We are so fortunate to have such great consignors with such fabulous things but we are having difficulty with the large volume. We thank you in advance for your understanding. Please review the guidelines below; If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us for further clarification! With that in mind, we currently offer four ways to consign.

  1. By Appointment Consignment by appointment is offered by appointment for both Clothing and Home Décor items. Please note: You will need two separate appointments if you are bringing in both home goods and clothing. Those who have called ahead to schedule a time for us to go through their items will have priority over the other two consignment options. Due to the large number of consignors we currently have (nearly 20k), we can now only accept up to 15 clothing items, 15 accessories, and 15 shoes per appointment for clothing. For Home Décor, we ask that you bring in no more than 3 boxes of items per appointment. Lamps and larger home decor items will be accepted on top of the 3 box limit within our capabilities. Furniture items need to be pre-approved and scheduled through email before being brought into the store, even if you have an appointment previously set up. Please contact the store to allow us to set you up with an appointment at 720-340-4152.
  2. Drop & Go: If you don’t have time to wait while we go through your items, you may “drop” your items off and “go” on with your day. This option is available both for home goods and clothing items. Please note: For Drop & Go Consignment, any items that we are not able to take will get donated without any prior notice to the consignor. The same 3-box limit in home decor and 15-item limit for clothing will apply. Items will still need to be in season.)
  3. Walk-In: You may walk-in to consign without an appointment if you have five items or less*.Please keep in mind that we will fit your items in between the already scheduled consignment appointments, so there may be a delay depending on how busy we are at the time you walk in. (*Please note: Furniture items are excluded from walk-in consignments)
  4. Mobile Consignment: We come to you! Scheduling a mobile consignment is a recommended option for anyone dealing with an Estate, a Bereavement, or moving on a large scale. We charge $100.00 for the first hour, and $25.00 per hour after the first hour. We will help you pack up, load, and transport any items that we are able to take on consignment within our capabilities. Please note: If large or heavy furniture items are present, you may need to schedule movers due to safety reasons.

INTAKE GUIDELINES

Clothing:

  • Consignment is limited to 15 items of clothing, 15 accessories, and 15 pieces of jewelry per visit. (Please note: Accessories include shoes, hats, scarves, belts, purses, etc.)
  • Items must be in-season! Please keep in mind that we cannot accept out-of-season items due to lack of storage space with the high volume of consignors.
  • Clothing items need to be freshly laundered and on hangers so that we may go through them in the allotted appointment time. Don’t worry, if you have made an appointment, you will get all of your hangers back! (Please note: a $2.00 steaming fee per item will be charged for anything that has been brought in and needs to be ironed or pressed prior to it being put out on the sales floor.)
  • We are unable to accept clothing with stains, rips, missing buttons, inoperable zippers, alterations, pet hair, pilling, or odors (smoke, mothballs, or perfume.) If defects are found in an item after intake, it will be donated without further notice.

Home Décor:

  • Consignment is limited to 3 boxes or “tubs” of items per appointment. If you are dealing with an Estate, a Bereavement, or moving an entire household, please give us a call so we can discuss further options at 720-340-4152.
  • Furniture items MUST be pre-approved before bringing them into the store. If we do not have enough space, we cannot take walk-in furniture consignments. It is also unfair to our consignors who have already scheduled and paid for delivery arrangements. Please email us photos of your furniture along with close-ups of any blemishes, and a brief description to info@fabfindsconsign.com. Include any known information, such as brand name, age, or original purchase price, as well as any moving dates or time constraints; If you don’t have any information, just include what you can! Most importantly, add your contact information so we know who we are communicating with!

How Consignment Works:

  • Fabulous Finds sets the prices (please share original purchase price if known for higher end items.) • Our consignment period is 60 days from the day the item is priced and put on the sales floor. Fabulous Finds staff reserves the right to reduce the sale price on any item during the consignment period.
  • Fabulous Finds is not responsible for loss by theft, fire, water damage, computer failure, or acts of nature. Items are left at consigner’s risk.
  • As items sell, money will accumulate in your account. The consignor has the option of receiving a 40% split as a check/cash once items sell, or a 50% split for in-store credit.
    • 40% & Check/Cash: Checks will be printed on the last day of the month and sent out to consignors who have a minimum balance of $26.50. If your account is under that amount, it will stay in the account until it accumulates more, or you may pick it up in cash. If there is a balance in your account, you may also use it towards store purchases before we send a check.
    • 50% & credit: Store credit can be used for store purchases at any time, both in clothing and home décor. Store credit is good for 16 months from your last account activity (including purchases using credit, selling, or consigning). o Please note: furniture is a 50% split because of the high cost of most furniture items. The money will then either stay as credit or be sent out as a check, depending on however the account was set up.
  • If you would like any items back after the 60-day consignment period, mark your calendar with the expiration date that you received the day you brought your items in. With over 18k consignors (and still counting!) we are unable to make reminder calls, and we appreciate your understanding. You can come into the store and we will print you out a report of your inventory and you can find them on our racks. We can help you if we are not busy with customers and other consignors. After 60 days, all items become the property of Fabulous Finds, and may be sold or donated to a local charity of our choosing.
